Human Albumin Crystallized (1X Cohn Crystallized)
ALBUMIN, HUMAN is recommended for use in absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) pharmacological research; cell culture; drug delivery research; and cryopreservation of cells. Prepared using Cohn method IV. The material is non-reactive for HbsAg, Anti-HCV 3.0, Anti-HIV-1/2 and STS (RPR). This material is also negative for HIV-1 and HCV by PCR. Product Description Albumins are a group of simple proteins found in the body fluids and tissues of animals, and in some plant seeds. It is a single polypeptide chain with one free sulfhydryl group (Cys34) and 17 intrachain disulfide bonds. Biochem/physiol Actions Albumins are soluble monomeric proteins found in the body fluids and tissues of animals and in some plant seeds. Serum albumin functions as a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones. Serum albumins are also vital in regulating the colloidal osmotic pressures of blood.
Zymolyase 100T (100Ku/g)
Zymolyase-100T is an enzyme preparation from a submerged culture of Arthrobacter luteus which effectively lyses cell walls of viable yeast cells. This preparation is lyophilized enzyme partially purified by affinity chromatography and contains 100,000 units enzyme/g. The primary enzyme in this preparation responsible for lysis of viable yeast cells in ß-1,3-glucan laminaripentaohydrolase. It hydrolyzes glucose polymers at the ß-1,3-glucan linkages releasing laminaripentaose as the principal product.
BOVINE THROMBIN, LOW SPECIFIC ACTIVITY
Thrombin is the final coagulation protease in regard to hemostasis, promoting both procoagulant and anticoagulant effects. It is a lyophilized powder containing sucrose, sodium chloride and Tris. The predominant form of thrombin in vivo is the zymogen, prothrombin (factor II), which is produced in the liver. The concentration of prothrombin in normal human plasma is 5–10 mg/dL. Prothrombin is a glycoprotein with a glycan content of ~12%.

This albumin has very low endotoxin and low IgG to simplify downstream purification, is tested for the absence of viruses according to 9CFR and has the highest possible biosafety level. The albumin supports growth of stem cells and increases protein production from hybridoma cells.

Recombinant Human IGF-I
The IGFs are mitogenic polypeptide growth factors that stimulate the proliferation and survival of various cell types including muscle, bone, and cartilage tissue in vitro. IGFs are predominantly produced by the liver, although a variety of tissues produce the IGFs at distinctive times. The IGFs belong to the Insulin gene family, which also contains insulin and relaxin. The IGFs are similar by structure and function to insulin, but have a much higher growth-promoting activity than insulin. IGF-II expression is influenced by placenta lactogen, while IGF-I expression is regulated by growth hormone. Both IGF-I and IGF-II signal through the tyrosine kinase type I receptor (IGF-IR), but, IGF-II can also signal through the IGF-II/Mannose-6-phosphate receptor. Mature IGFs are generated by proteolytic processing of inactive precursor proteins, which contain N-terminal and C-terminal propeptide regions. Recombinant human IGF-I and IGF-II are globular proteins containing 70 and 67 amino acids, respectively, and 3 intra-molecular disulfide bonds.
